The Welkin by Lucy Kirkwood received its NZ Premiere in October, 2023 at the Pumphouse Theatre, under the direction of Matthew Diesch. The soundtrack is presented here in full as heard throughout the production, with the omission of one track as it is one performed live by the cast in song.

The thought for this score was to create something that felt old and yet new at the same time. Aspects of what I feel are near-minimalism are employed as well as many harmonies and motifs in fourths and fifths to create an older and more open feel to the score. It was a pleasure to be the composer for this production and I am grateful to Matthew, Foolish Wit Theatre and the Pumphouse for their support in my music.
