Misery, adapted from Stephen King's book of the same title by William Goldman received its Auckland Premiere in 2023 at the Dolphin Theatre, Onehunga.

The soundtrack of this play comprises of 27 cues, written over a 6 day period and marks a return to the theatre after a 2 year absence from the scene. Condensed into the 20 of the best cues from the full score here for your listening pleasure is a work I feel proud to present.

As a teen and young uni student I was deeply immersed in King's work, so to be allowed to score one of his most signature villians was an immense joy. My eternal thanks to my inspirations for the score: Herrmann, Beethoven, Prokofiev, Sondheim, Griskey, Wintory and especially to Gene Wilder. Without their imaginative scores I could not have hoped to bring Paul and Annie to life. It's rare for a composer to be allowed so much of his personal music tastes to bleed into a project, and this is one such occasion.

My endless thanks also to the Director, Zane Fleming for bringing back for another production and to the Dolphin Theatre for staging such a show.
